Teacher Qualifications: Graduate GCLCM (Leeds College of Music)
LGSM (London Guildhall)

I have been playing guitar for about 30 years, and playing and teaching professionally for about 15. I am mainly self taught but had some lessons at the beginning to get started, and decided to include some formal education at music colleges later on. Early on I worked out and learned most of the famous “Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton” album note by note. That certainly improved my ear training. I also learned Jimi Hendrix songs and the music of other rock bands. Later, I also got into the music of jazz artists such as Pat Metheny, John Scofield and Weather Report.

I play in rock and jazz bands and have played in duos and function bands. I currently play in the Hot Orange Big Band which plays a fusion of jazz, latin and rock styles. I have a Roland guitar synthesiser, use Cubase music software, a Boogie amplifier and Boss and Yamaha pedals. About the only thing that hasn’t been changed on my guitar is the wood. Samples of my playing will shortly be added on the samples page of this new website.
